Escape the crowds and explore the reefs of tranquil Northwest Sumbawa and Moyo Island. Here you will find beautiful coral, sponges, fans and the diverse tropical reef fish that make Indonesia one of the best diving locations in the world. Dive along walls and sloping reefs such as those on Labuan Aji, one of the most popular sites of the area and mostly accessed by liveaboard boats. Like Labuan Aji, other sites such as Angel Reef, Panjang Timur and Panjang Barat are on sea mounts several hundred meters from Moyo Island. At these sites, you can witness a flurry of aquatic activity including bright schools of fusiliers, midnight snappers, batfish, napoleon wrasses, various surgeonfish, bannerfish, and angelfish. Keep an eye out for green and hawksbill turtles, anemonefish, octopuses, scorpionfish, lionfish, spotted garden eels, and stingrays. Look down and into the blue and you have a chance of seeing black tip and white tip reef sharks or perhaps an eagle ray. Our house reef has 3 sites, just a few minutes out, including a Japanese wreck and Bio Rocks, a coral growth project. Our furthest sites are just a 45-minute ride away. There are several other excellent dive sites nearby such as Tanjung Menangis, Raja Sua, Air Manis, and Tanjung Pasir. All the sites we regularly dive feature plenty of fish and usually no other divers!
Courses
Samawa Dive Center is the perfect place to take your first or next scuba diving course. Our highly experienced PADI instructors strictly adhere to PADI standards and make sure that your safety is the highest priority. Secondly, they make certain you are having fun! Learning to dive should be enjoyable and not rushed or overwhelming so they will work with you to make a schedule that works with your holiday plans.
Our dive sites are ideal for training. For beginners, we have shallow sites that very rarely have any current and surge; the perfect next step after completing your pool sessions.
Discover Scuba Diving
If you haven’t got the time for your open water course or would just like to see what diving is like, then this short program is perfect for you. You must be at least 10 years old. After a brief introduction to basic dive theory, you will practice a few basic skills in our swimming pool, and then go out on a shallow ocean dive to a max depth of 12 meters. (Not ready for the ocean? No problem. We also offer a 45-minute pool-only session.)

PADI Open Water Diver Course
With PADI Open Water certification, you hold an internationally recognized license to scuba dive all over the world. You will learn dive theory and scuba skills through 5 knowledge development sessions, 5 pool sessions, and 4 open water training dives. Your certified PADI instructor will work with you at a pace that is best for your development and enjoyment. If you prefer, you can start studying at home with PADI eLearning and complete the course in just 3 days. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be certified to dive to 18 meters.

PADI Advanced Open Water Course
Take your Open Water Diver skills to the next level. You will have 5 knowledge development sessions and 5 training dives, each focusing on a specialty area or skill set of your interest. DEEP and UNDERWATER NAVIGATION dives are mandatory. Your options for your other 3 dives include NIGHT, DRIFT, WRECK, DIGITAL UNDERWATER IMAGING, PEAK PERFORMANCE BOUYANCY, FISH IDENTIFICATION, UNDERWATER NATURALIST, and others. Talk to your instructor to find out what is best for you. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be certified to dive to 30 meters.
Prerequisite: PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
